Enugu Police raids arms manufacturing company, arrests widow

imageA widow and mother of four, Mrs Juliet Nwachukwu has been arrested by the Police in Enugu State over her alleged involvement in gun running.
Her arrest followed the raid of a gun manufacturing company located at Ihuoha Amansiodo Oghe, in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
DailyPost gathered that the illegal company serves as an arms market for hoodlums.
In a statement made available to DailyPost on Friday by the spokesman of the Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, he disclosed that the principal suspect, who is now at large, relocated some of the arms when he got wind of police’s move to search the place.
According to Amaraizu, the suspect “relocated some of the manufactured cut to size double barrel and single barrel gun, his manufacturing tools and some of the manufactured cartridges to the woman friend also identified as one Juliet Nwachukwu, a widow with about four children and absconded.
“On her part, Juliet admitted that the guns and the tools were brought to her two days ago by the manufacturer who did not tell her reason for bringing them to her house.
“She, however, revealed that Ejike has been a manufacturer of gun for sometime now and regretted accepting the guns from him.

“So many manufactured and about to be manufactured guns with some manufactured live cartridges as well as some tools for the manufacturing were recovered”.
He added that “investigations into the incident have commenced in full scale just as manhunt on the fleeing suspect is intensified, while Juliet Nwachukwu is helping the police in their investigations”.
