LMC suspends NPL games to be played in Maiduguri

The League Management Company (LMC), has suspended all the Glo Premier League games, that were to played in Maiduguri, which is the home of El Kanemi Warriors.
The decision was made after Abia Warriors sent in a complaint, regarding the safety of hosting matches in the city which is a mainstay for Boko Haram insurgents.
A statement from the Office of the LMC Chairman, states that the suspension order is with immediate effect.
“We are constrained to put on hold all Globacom Premier League games in Maiduguri until further notice due to latest security intelligence from the area and the suspended games include this weekend’s match between El-Kanemi Warriors and Abia Warriors,” the statement read.

“Once again, we want reassure clubs that decisions of the LMC at all times will be guided by the need to serve the greater good and hinged on existing realities.”
