Two people have been killed and several injured after a train derailed in the southern French Alps on Saturday.
The train was travelling from Nice to the town of Digne-les-Bains on a
line which crosses gorges and viaducts at up to 1,000m (3,200ft) above
sea level.
Firefighters quoted by the French news agency AFP said the train derailed after hitting a rock on the rails.
Emergency services were working to free passengers still trapped inside, French media reported.
