Bieber, 18, had been dating Gomez for two years.
The pair blamed their hectic schedules for the split, with Bieber touring to
promote his latest album while 20-year-old Gomez is filming a "Wizards
of Waverly Place" reunion for Disney Channel.
"Because of their crazy schedules, it was getting harder and harder to
maintain a relationship," a source told American TV channel E News.
Neither Bieber nor Gomez have confirmed the news.
The pair were a permanent presence in American teen magazines, and described
as a 'teen power couple'.
