According
to reports, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, has been given the go-ahead
to field a weakened side against Liverpool on Sunday. After the 0-0 draw against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie, Mourinho hinted that he might have to rest his top players at Anfield, ahead of the second leg of the encounter next Wednesday.
That means that the Blues might start the title-determining match with goalkeeper Hilario and youngsters like Tomas Kalas and Nathan Ake. Chelsea will not be breaking Premier League rules, if they pick from their first-team squad, even if Mourinho decides to change the entire starting 11.
Chelsea are five points behind Liverpool, with Manchester City just a point behind them, hence Mourinho’s argument that the Champions League offers a better chance of silverware.
