Anambra Election: PDP suspends Tony Nwoye’s Campaign DG

Fresh crisis has opened up in the Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, following the suspension of Prince Ossy Ezenwa, the Campaign Director General of its governorship candidate Comrade Tony Nwoye from the party.
Also suspended is Nwoye’s Director of protocol Chief Kenneth Arinze.
The chairman of the party in the state, Prince Kenneth Emeakayi, who spoke with journalists on Wednesday said the would take part in the proposed supplementary election coming up this Saturday.
He disclosed that the party had already agreed with Tony Nwoye to take part in the exercise.
DailyPost recalls that the duo of Ossy Ezenwa and Kenneth Arinze had two days ago insisted that Nwoye and the National leadership of PDP would not be part
of the election.

They had maintained that the National Publicity Secretary of PDP Chief Olisa Metuh was on his own
However, Emeakayi said, “following development in our party regarding the media publications both in the print and electronic credited to some members of our party on the supplementary election, the state working committee in a meeting today reviewed the whole situation after preliminary hearing resolved to suspend Prince Victor Ossy Ezenwa and Kenneth Arinze from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for anti party activities and breach of the party’s constitution”
“The State Working Committee decision was ratified by the larger State Working Committee all the chairmanship and councillorship candidates, local government party chairmen, ward chairmen and the executive of the party in the state.
“This suspension is in line with chapter 10 section 57 subsection (3) of the PDP Constitution as amended which made provisions that Working Committee at all levels or executive committee at any level that they have the right to suspend any erring member of the party”.
He added that the suspended party members had been referred to the disciplinary Committee of PDP for appropriate disciplinary action, stressing that the party in Anambra State had condemned the attitude of some of its members who had continued to insult the National Publicity Secretary of the party Chief Olisa Metuh.
“We also state that PDP in Anambra State endorses and support the position of the National leadership of the party on the supplementary election and we wish to also announce that the PDP will participate in the election.
“We also use this opportunity to pass a vote of confidence on the National publicity Secretary of our party Chief Olisa Metuh as we all have that implicit confidence on him”, he emphasized.
Meanwhile the two suspended members of the party were yet to react to the development.
